A perfect escape for young families, cant wait to go again. We stayed at Ashstead for 3 nights between Xmas and New Year - 4 adults and 4 children [all under 5!]. It's down a long track on the side of a hill in a beautiful part of Kendal, and it's easy to find from the main road as the track leads directly to it. - see entire review
Perfect Christmas. We stayed over Christmas and had a fantastic time. The house is beautiful and equipped with everything to make your stay perfect. The rooms were spotless and very comfortable. The owners had decorated the walls with balloons and streamers and a tree in the corner of the dining room complete with presents for everyone. So thoughtful. - see entire review
Perfect Family Christmas location. Ashstead Farmhouse was where we chose to spend Christmas as an extended family (me and my partner, his parents, my parents and siblings - 9 people altogether) and it was the PERFECT choice. Absolutely beautiful house with gorgeous stone walls and fully equipped - there is really very little that our hosts didn't plan for. Very comfortable, gorgeous setting, and only a few miles from Kendal, so very convenient for picking up groceries, etc. - see entire review
Great 'Get away from it all' destination! We got a lovely warm welcome from the owner, Helen. She had gone to the trouble to supply a welcome pack with all the essentials including bread and milk and even coffee, tea and biscuits. Helen really had thought of everything including packs of toiletries and emergency sewing kit! - see entire review

“A working farm which made for a great family weekend away.” The cottage was the perfect fit for my family (3 kids, 2 adults) and my parents for a weekend away. The lay out works really well for an extended family (and I am sure would work for 2 families). It was really clean and well kitted out. My kids absolutely loved - see entire review
